More Information

THE CHALLENGE
Trek or run a Marathon, Half Marathon or 5 mile adventure across Greenwich and discover London’s hidden green side as you venture through forest and woodland paths, whilst making your challenge as relaxed or as hardcore as you want to with our route choices.

THE MISSION
Our mission is to provide the gift of adventure to disadvantaged children. Join us in this amazing challenge and help us succeed in helping to provide a brighter future for our community! If you work for or are part of a school or social housing organisation, then the funds you raise can be ring fenced to provide adventure to your school or community.

HOW TO GET THERE
Trains run on a frequent basis from Central London (London Charing Cross, London Bridge, and London Victoria) to Falconwood station and Eltham station. From Falconwood station, Wide Horizons Environment Centre is a very pleasant fifteen-minute walk and you will be sent full instructions on getting to the centre if you are travelling by train.

THE FINISH LINE
Of course! We’ll have a range of activities and mini adventures happening at our 9-acre Environment Centre, ready for you to try your hand at once your complete your challenge or for your enthusiastic army of supporters to get stuck into! As well as a well-deserved BBQ, attractions are likely to include a Gruffalo hunt, minibeast hunting, pond dipping, eco art, fire making, storytelling, orienteering, our Kunekune pigs, and the chance to get up-close with some creepy crawlies in our animal encounters - not forgetting our Jurassic dig site. Green City Challenge participants and friends and family will be able to spend the day experiencing the many mini adventures around the site, or just relax and enjoy a picnic, ice cream, cakes and drinks in the beautiful Environment Centre grounds.

A brilliantly organised and stunning walk to Kent

I've taken part twice now and both times come away with new friends, amazing memories and of course the odd blister!
The organisation of this event is second to none and the views are at times breath taking.
