In 2008 we created a spectacular Half Marathon in central London – the first and only one of its kind. The stunning 13.1 mile route takes in the capital’s world-famous landmarks on closed roads, and four of London’s eight Royal Parks – Hyde Park, The Green Park, St James’s Park and Kensington Gardens.
We, like all of our runners, want to see the best of London’s city and parks, so our fantastic event goes beyond just running 13.1 miles, as we design the day so that spectators have as much fun as the runners themselves.
“I absolutely love this event, this is the second time I've done the Royal Parks Half and I will certainly be returning next year, it's such a beautiful run, the atmosphere is amazing, it's a very eco-friendly event and even the medals are unique and gorgeous. Thank you so much for a wonderful time.” Yasmin, runner 2015
“The whole experience was excellent. So lucky with the weather and so the parks looked beautiful. The most important for me, though, was the atmosphere of goodwill amongst the runners, supporters and volunteers.” Philippa, runner 2015
"This was the best organised and the most uplifting and enjoyable run I have done. Thank you for such a wonderful experience and I cannot wait to enter for 2016!" - Becky, runner 2015
Raising funds for the Royal Parks Foundation and other charities
Our award-winning event was set up as an annual fundraising initiative, raising sustainable funds for the Royal Parks Foundation to support London’s eight Royal Parks, and enabling charities of all sizes to be involved in a major challenge event.
Over the last seven years the event has exceeded all expectation in raising over £25million for more than 500 UK charities, including the Royal Parks Foundation, Cancer Research UK, GOSH, Scope, and Tommy’s.
We need people to understand that London's beautiful Royal Parks need their support. The money raised by the Royal Parks Foundation through this event helps to keep the magic of the Royal Parks alive through restoring monuments and playgrounds, teaching children about the natural world and caring for wildlife.

In 2015 we had a fantastic new route for our runners to enjoy, venturing past many of London's most iconic sites!

Finally, we aim to make race day as green and sustainable as possible. 66% of all waste from the event is recycled and now avoids landfill sites. We’re working hard to do more with every event we put on. It is important to us that we not only protect the Parks but do our bit to reduce our impact on the wider world.
