The Bright10 is one of the friendliest running events in the south east, welcoming runners of all abilities to the iconic seafront of Brighton & Hove. Join us in 2017 for the most colourful race on the UK running calendar.
There aren't enough ten mile races in the calendar and this is a newbie, only starting in 2015. The course is pretty much all along the seafront, a mixture of promenade and closed road. It's generally flat with a steady but manageable climb after three or so miles. Watch out for the wind though - being right on the coast, if it's a windy day you will feel it pretty hard one way or the other! The event was well marshalled and supported, the medal was decent and there was water and free clif bars being handed out at the end but no t-shirts or blankets which you might expect for the money. The best thing - the friendliness and camaraderie of the other runners and so many of them waiting around at the end to cheer you on and chat about the event. Strongly recommend it, especially if you're ready to step up from 10k but not ready for a half just yet.
Great marshals and a nice chunky medal not a cheap one
This is the second time I've run the Brighton & Hove 10 Mile & thoroughly enjoyed the event. Despite the threat of bad weather, the rain stopped 15 mins before the race start time of 9am and although the wind was a bit blustery, the sun came out and the morning was almost perfect for a run. The course was interesting - some great flat speedy parts and a few challenging inclines - with some fab views out to sea and across to Rodean. The event was well marshaled, lots of water stations with loads of volunteers, the finish was flat and fast and the medal and post race goodies were great. All that and a high five from the Mayor at the start.. Will definitely run again next year !
