Great South Run - Sunny seaside run

Really well organised, great support all round the town and course. Lovely Tshirt and finish down the esplanade! Fast and flat, definitely a PB race and 10miles is a great distance.

Lots of runners!

This was my first race with this many people taking part and it was really well organised and supported. The start is pretty funny with a warm up over the loud speaker, and lots of people bursting off at break neck speeds as the adrenaline overtook them. The course runs past some nice scenery round the dockyard but after that it's mostly through the town of Portsmouth which is not exactly picturesque. There are tons of people supporting and the streets are lined pretty much everywhere which I guess makes up for it. The last couple of miles are straight back along Southsea promenade and if it's a windy day this can be a real test, so find some cover behind other runners! Lots of goodies and t-shirt after, though getting out of the area is tricky due to closed roads and the numbers of people, so don't expect to get away too quickly.
