Stunning senary, great people, great atmosphere. Well organised
Despite being really cold and really hilly this half marathon is easily the most picturesque i've run. After a 3 mile climb up and around the Great Orme you get to see the amazing snow-capped peaks of North Wales on a really steep mile(ish) long descent. Somehow, despite the long climbs and a hangover I managed to take 7 minutes off my flat half marathon PB! Must have been the scenery :) Thanks to the marshals for standing out in the cold for the duration of the event too - their work isn't appreciated enough and should definitely get a medal at the end too!
Great organised event, encouraging marshals & great crowds. This is my 3rd time taking part in this event Only critism I have is again with runners littering; throwing their empty gel wrappers on the floor & in some cases their tops!!
The weather was perfect! Dry, bright and cold. Not good for standing around before the race but fine once you got going. The main challenge came after 5 miles with the two mile 1,000 ft climb up the Great Orme. The views were special though and there was a fast two mile descent to claw back the lost time. A steady incline again at 10 miles was not needed and caught a few out. The support on course was superb, and there were lots of very supportive marshals too. I recommend it as a challenge and for the views.
My first time doing this half & only my second Half Marathon. The race is well organised, very friendly, easy to get, parking was easy. The route is amazing, even though there is a climb up around the Orme it all worth the views & I enjoyed the hard work. Enjoyed the whole experience & got a new PB here which I didn't expect. Will be signing up to do it again in 2017. Highly recommended Half Marathon
